Treatment is focused on manual therapy including spinal and joint manipulation. Soft tissue therapies such as massage, dry needling, fascial release, electrotherapy such as TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation),flexion distraction as well as kinesiotaping. These treatments in conjunction with patient education, ergonomics and nutritional advice will help patients of all ages restore normal functionality from mechanical stress.
Local pain causes a reactive muscle spasm, which results in sudden or severe pain and an inability to move comfortably. Lower back pain is due to inflammation or degeneration of the spinal joint and/or the joint capsule(disc) which is often aggravated by extension movement.
